Richard B. Cheney is famous American public servant, businessman as well as a politician. Cheney, a well-known face within Washington politics, worked with four presidents in the United States. George W. Bush is the fourth. Bush decided to choose Cheney as his running mate as Vice President in July of 2000. Bush cited the experience and wisdom of Cheney. Dick Cheney served as the chief of staff to a president, was an elected congressman Congress and served as the secretary of defense. Cheney is an honest man whom is admired by Republicans and Democrats. Cheney is of the opinion that his work within the Bush Administration is to serve as a candid but discrete advisor. Cheney said that when he accepted the Republican nomination as vice president, he looked forward to being a part of a president who works with all parties in order to accomplish his goals. He will collaborate with opponents with trust and respect. Richard Bruce Cheney is the son of Richard Herbert Cheney of the late Marjorie Lauraine Dickey. He was born on January 30, 1941, in Lincoln Nebraska. At the age of 13, Richard Bruce moved with his parents in Casper (in Wyoming, the State of Wyoming) which is where his father was Director of the U.S. Department of Agriculture's land conservation districts.
